Something fishy

Last saturday was time to make an other surprise breakfast for my girls. This time I wantedto make a fish themed breakfast, a fish bowl breakfast. This one was fun to make, I found the cute little fish in a Los Angeles supermarket  and made the fish bowl out of ready made bread dough I bought in the supermarket.

Nathalie l'ete....

I love the work of the Parisian artist and illustrator Nathalie L'ete, so when I found out that she was coming to Rotterdam to sign her new  book in the very pretty flower shop Zomers I just had to go. It was lovely to meet her and talk to her and have her sign the book.  Such an inspiring artist, you might know her work from Flow magazine.

Happy camper breakfast

An other surprise breakfast I made for the girls, I love making these breakfast. This time I was inspired by camping and the outdoor adventure.
The caravan was made from a fresh homemade waffle, the tent is made from an icecream waffel, I used half of a mandarin for the sun and the sunbeams where made from pink pokey sticks I bought them in a japanese shop, the campfire was constructed with more pockey sticks and edibale paper, rice crackers made perfect rocks and the whole was completed with a mint tree and a strawberry/banana/mango/orange smoothie.

Handmade gifts...

I like making things a lot and I love making things for others, lucky for me my two girls are very creative and share my passion for craft and sharing their handmade projects with their friends. We prefer giving handmade gifts instead of store bought ones, of course sometimes we do not have the time or inspiration or the perfect gift is something we cannot make ourselves, we always try to add something creative to the gift. It can be as simple as a handmade brithday card or wrapping the gift in a fun and creative way.
This weekend Mila had a birthday party of a friend and this is what she made, a cute breakfast set with a mustache theme. We bought a plain cup and plate and she decorated it with porcelain pens a fun and easy project....
As well as making handmade gifts I love recieving them too, what do you prefer, handmade or store bought gifts?

I love fabrics and I must admit I have lots of them! I love visiting fabric stores and markets to find ( and buy) some more, I can get very excited about a new piece of fabric and dream about all the pretty things I can make of it. Since a few weeks I have my own fabric on the roll and I love looking at it standing there and think of all the things I want to make with it. I already made cushions, tea towels and a bag and plan to make a dress for the girls....

Click clack camera

These last few days I have been taking lots of pictures. I'm working on a new website and a new catalogue. This is lots of work but I love doing it especially when the sun is shining so I can use the natural light in the pictures.
With the new website there will also be some new products, of course the new Paris fabric but also ready made cushions and teatowels. Cannot wait to show you the end result!

Winter wool

I just love making small clothes for the dolls and rabbits, these little winter jackets are from 100 % wool and I think the colour is so great, I think this dusty pink is my new favourite colour. The jackets are for some limited edition dolls and Rabbits I'm making and will be in the shop soon.

Friday I visited the woonbeurs together with Esther from Babyccino and Julie from Famille Summerbelle (so nice finally meeting her in real life!) Here is an impression of some of my favourites and trends I spotted.

Lots of plants and pastels this year!
